g'day everyone, I am starting this thread for people who have been or would like to go to the Burningman in the Black Rock Desert Nevada USA.
The event has been going for the last 29years and is basically an arts festival.There is no way to describe the event,it would be like trying to explain a colour to a blind person.
There are plenty of sites to check out photos and info about burningman,a lot of very good ones on tribe.
Due to the large expence of travelling from Australia to the States and all the extras incured while travelling,it seems to make sense to get everyone together and travel in a group to recieve flight discounts and accomodation discounts.
If you have an interest in going to the Man please dont hesitate to contact me,i will answer as many questions as i can.
In the spirit of BurningMan this is my little way of gifting to you a little(hopefully big)saving.

It's killing me not being there.
I agree, a bulk travel arrangement is the way to go.

Sun, September 16, 2007 - 2:44 AMyay... went this year and it was pretty incredible. haha, we also joked about starting 'burning mate'... but making it a festival (with similar ideals) that produces 0 waste (using permaculture philosphy, carbon offsets etc)... be a big mission, but would be awesome. Hope you had fun mac, i stopped by the australian embassy a few times... good fun, weird to be back home. xox lily

Fri, August 28, 2009 - 11:06 PMthere is something similar that happens each year on the Sunshine Coast --- its called "manshine"and is usually a four day weekend at a local public camping ground beside one of our local lakes - very private - cabin accommodated--- and very relaxed,..though ive not been there I rely on the information Im given.
Its a total Men Only weekend.

Men are encouraged to bring out the real "them" during the weekend, express their feelings on life, love and libido. workshop a wide range of mens issues .. be naked if you wish. Bond with other men, and allow your spirituality to be expressed.\
Not sure it would be my 'thing" but its good to know that its there, and that it happens for those who wish to participate
